The week of October 20th saw the Empirical Software Engineering International Week 2024 (ESEM), the world’s most prominent conference in the field of Empirical Software Engineering, take place in Barcelona.

At this event, researchers Mar Zamorano, África Domingo, Carlos Cetina, and Federica Sarro presented the paper titled “Game Software Engineering: A Controlled Experiment Comparing Automated Content Generation Techniques,” which was awarded the Best Technical Paper of the conference.

Mar Zamorano, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Game Design and Development and the Master’s Degree in Advanced Software Technologies for Mobile Devices, and a member of the SVIT research group, was responsible for presenting this paper as part of her doctoral studies at University College London.

Empirical Software Engineering is a research model that seeks to generate knowledge based on evidence, experimentation, and the observation of reality. At this forum, researchers and professionals from different parts of the world presented and shared the results of recent research on a wide range of topics, while also exchanging ideas, experiences, and new challenges.
